Reasons to Choose a Convict Lake Elopement
Convict Lake is one of the most popular spots to visit in the Mammoth Lakes area. The lake is simultaneously one of the most majestic mountain and alpine lake views, but requires no hiking. There is a 2 mile walk around the lake if desired, but not necessary.
Convict Lake Resort is also an official wedding venue. Read more about the venue and package options here if you’d like to plan a full wedding: https://convictlake.com/weddings/
There are a few limitations for Convict Lake elopements. Ceremonies cannot happen on the beach area next to the lake. You can’t set up props like arches and chairs. Depending on the size of your group, you will need a permit from the National Forest Service.
Best Seasons to Elope at Convict Lake
You could get married at Convict Lake anytime of the year, although it is covered in snow for a few months each winter. I suggest choosing a time somewhere between April and December, and preferably May through November. The elopement pictured here was in early December.
Lodging at Convict Lake
